Cops: Buy Buy Baby robber hid overnight

Police say an armed man who robbed a Buy Buy Baby store in Greenburgh Monday morning camped out the location overnight before confronting an employee with a knife.

According to police, the suspect threatened workers just before the store opened for business at around 7 a.m. Investigators say the man entered the store at around 9 p.m. Sunday night through an open door and tripped the alarm. However, the store manager and police found nothing when they scoured the warehouse-sized store.

The robber forced the store manager into an office and demanded money Monday morning. A struggle then ensued, but the man got away on foot down Central Avenue with the cash.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s with a bald head and slim but athletic build. He was wearing grey pants, police say.
