County Democrats give nod to Andy Spano

The father-son battle for Westchester County executive took center stage Wednesday night as the county's Democratic Committee nominated candidates for the 2009 election season.
County Executive Andy Spano says he's certain his run for a fourth term will be anything but ordinary.
"This is going to be one hell of an election, that's for sure," Spano says.
Wednesday night at the Westchester County Center Spano's own son, David, challenged his father for the party's nomination. The younger Spano leads a movement that aims to abolish county government. However, he did not win the nomination.
"I'm an agent of change," says David Spano.
Other Democrats nominated were District Attorney Janet DiFiore, who is being challenged by Republican Dan Schorr. The district leaders in attendance also backed Tim Idoni for county clerk.
