Police probe alleged kidnapping attempt

Parents in Yorktown are on alert after police say two men in a truck tried to kidnap a middle school student from a bus stop.

Police say the incident happened Wednesday morning at the end of Line Avenue off Stoney Street in Shrub Oak. According to investigators, the two men drove up and told the 12-year-old Lakeland Copper Beach Middle School student to get in their truck.

According to police, the boy refused and the men drove off. Police say there was no physical contact and that the student reported the incident as soon as he got to school.

No arrests have been made.
