Yorktown school evacuated after bomb threat

District officials say a Yorktown middle school was evacuated Tuesday because of a bomb threat.

Yorktown police say Mildred Strang Middle School students were evacuated after the threat was found written on a bathroom wall. Police then searched the school, deemed it safe and students were allowed back into class.

The Yorktown school district says it will pursue the harshest discipline possible for whoever wrote the threat. Officials say a strong message is needed to make clear that sort of behavior is unacceptable.
