Diane Schuler's husband set to break silence
The husband of the Long Island woman at the heart of the fatal Taconic Parkway crash will break his silence Thursday. Attorney Dominic Barbara will hold a news conference at his Garden City office on behalf of his client, Daniel Schuler. Authorities say Schuler was drunk and impaired by marijuana when she drove the wrong way down the Taconic State Parkway, killing herself and seven other people. Her daughter and her three nieces were among those killed. Police say Schuler, 36, had a blood-alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit. She had downed at least 10 drinks and had smoked marijuana as recently as 15 minutes before the July 26 wreck, police said Tuesday. Police had said no criminal charges were expected, although the family of the three Yonkers men killed in the crash met with Westchester County prosecutors earlier this week.
