Funeral held for man killed in ATV crash

Family and friends gave their final farewell Friday to Tom Gardner, 23, who was killed when he crashed his ATV in Cortlandt.

Gardner was a student at Westchester Community College and worked at a pizza restaurant. Police say he crashed his all terrain vehicle into a telephone pole Monday on Locust Avenue and Rancho Drive.

Police say Gardner was speeding and was not wearing a helmet. Investigators claim there were no eyewitnesses.

The memorial was held at Saint Elizabeth Seton Church in Shrub Oak. Gardner's body was later taken to Hillside Cemetery in Cortlandt for burial.
