The race for Westchester district attorney became heated Tuesday when members of both campaigns engaged in a shouting match.

The tension erupted after District Attorney Janet DiFiore's campaign spokesperson Tracy Everson - a former News 12 reporter - was asked to leave a news conference being held by DiFiore's opponent in next week's Democratic primary, White Plains lawyer Tony Castro.

Castro then criticized DiFiore's handling of the Irma Marquez case, in which the woman was apparently seen on video being slammed to the ground by Yonkers officer Wayne Simoes.

Marquez was later acquitted in the case, but Castro argues she should never have gone through a trial. Simoes was also acquitted in a separate trial.
