Vote nears in feverish Westchester DA race
The Democratic candidates in the contentious primary for Westchester district attorney made a final push Monday for votes.
Incumbent Janet DiFiore and her challenger, Tony Castro, continued to trade barbs before Tuesday's primary. Castro said DiFiore's endorsement by the Westchester County Chiefs of Police Association should not have been given because tax money pays the group's dues.
DiFiore has maintained there are no conflicts involved with the endorsement and has cited the support of more than a dozen police groups.
Dan Schorr, the Republican candidate, awaits Tuesday's winner. Polls open across Westchester at 6 a.m.
