Police: Stash of weapons, fireworks seized at home
Police say they arrested a father and son in Cortlandt Thursday and seized a cache of weapons from their home.
The Yonkers Police Department Special Investigations Unit and the county bomb squad arrived at 55 Lockwood Road after receiving reports of a bomb. Authorities say they raided the residence and confiscated a dozen rifles, a handgun, ammunition and illegal fireworks.
Police also arrested the owner of the house, 54-year-old Gary Burstell, and his son, Gary Burstell Jr. The son was released after being questioned.
Peter Furu, Burstell's father-in-law, was held for questioning by police for several hours. He says all the weapons in his son-in-law's house are legal.
