A man who had a heart attack at the Somers New York Sports Club was reunited Friday with the nurse who saved his life.

Frank Schmidt, 71, says he was doing his regular fitness routine Monday when he went into cardiac arrest. Trainers at the health club started giving Schmidt mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and prepared to use a defibrillator when he passed out.

Off-duty nurse Juliet Hernandez, who was also at the fitness club, brought Schmidt back to life using compressions. Schmidt had a chance to thank the nurse for saving his life and giving him a chance to celebrate his 49th wedding anniversary Friday.
