Yonkers children honor fallen firefighter
Yonkers students marched to the local fire department Friday to honor a firefighter who was killed in an alleged arson fire last week.
Fifth-graders from the Scholastic Academy were met by the Firefighter Patrick Joyce's twin brother, Peter Joyce, who accepted their gifts and written tributes.
"We were not going to let this moment go by," says teacher James Fleshman. "This is a man that will always be honored."
Joyce died after jumping from a third-story window of a house on Waverly Street due to intense heat. Rafael Roldan was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and arson.
