NJ woman seriously injured in crash
Police say a 26-year-old woman from New Jersey is fighting for her life after she was ejected from her car Friday morning in Rockland.
Police say the victim?s car went off the Palisades Parkway at around 8 a.m. just north of Exit 12 in Ramapo and smacked into a tree. The victim was ejected out of the driver?s side window when the vehicle rolled over.
Police are still trying to figure out exactly what caused the crash but believe the woman was on her cell phone when the accident occurred.
Police say the woman was not breathing when police arrived at the scene and suffered serious head injuries.
The Palisades Parkway was shut down in the area Friday morning for an hour as emergency crews tended to the victim.
