Dad raises awareness about Shaken Baby Syndrome
Ten years after Darryl Gibbs' daughter died from brain injuries, photos of the Yonkers father and his child appeared on billboards and bus shelters to mark National Shaken Baby Syndrome Awareness Week.
Gibbs says his daughter, Cynthia, died in November 2000 after being violently shaken by her babysitter, Barbara Baron.
As part of his efforts to educate the public about SBS, which claims hundreds of lives every year, Gibbs has formed the Cynthia Gibbs Foundation.
Baron was sentenced to 15 years in prison for killing Cynthia.
