WC volunteers look to make intersections safer

Westchester volunteers are conducting a survey this week in hopes of making intersections safer for people to cross.

The Complete Streets survey volunteers can be spotted in yellow vests. They will watch people walking, time traffic signals and look for safety features, including curb cuts that allow those in wheelchairs to cross safely.

The survey hopes to point out small changes that can make a big difference for pedestrians.

There were 14 intersections across Westchester chosen for this study.
