Driver: Toyota in Port Chester crash accelerated on its own

The driver of the Toyota Camry that landed on top of two other vehicles in Port Chester yesterday tells News 12 that his car accelerated on its own.

Rocco Doino, 78, says he was going 10 mph while looking for an exit out of the parking lot of Kohl's department store on Boston Post Road. He says his Camry accelerated "like a plane" and jumped up.

Earlier this month, a man driving a Camry slammed into a Yonkers bank. In March, a woman driving a Camry in Harrison crashed into a wall. Investigators have determined the Harrison accident was caused by a driver error.

Doino says Toyota got in contact with him today, asking for permission to examine the car.
