Ossining school clamps down on 'Slap Ass Day'

The principal of an Ossining school has forbidden students to slap each other's backsides in light of an online movement promoting "Slap Ass Day."

After the principal of Anne M. Dorner Middle School found out there were messages on Facebook encouraging students to slap each other's backsides earlier this week, she sent phone and e-mail notices to parents, asking them to talk to their children.

Staff at the middle school also addressed students during the week on the repercussions of engaging in such an inappropriate behavior.

Facebook users declared April 23 as "National Slap Ass Day." So far, there have not been any reported backside slapping incidents inside schools.
