Tractor-trailer plunges into Mamaroneck River

Authorities used the Jaws of Life yesterday to rescue a man whose tractor-trailer plunged into the Mamaroneck River as he exited off I-684.

According to authorities, the tractor-trailer wasn't carrying a load but a hazmat team was called to the scene after an estimated 30 to 50 gallons of fuel leaked out.

Police say the driver of the tractor-trailer is expected to be OK. A crane will be used to remove the tractor-trailer from the Mamaroneck River.
