Inmate charged with beating corrections officer appears in court

An inmate charged with severely beating a guard at Westchester County Jail appeared in court yesterday.

Police say Officer Anthony Farmer, 20, was working in a housing area when he was knocked unconscious by 31-year-old Jason Aubrey.

Officials say Farmer was struck repeatedly while he was unconscious and suffered a broken ankle that required surgery.

Aubrey is charged with assault and is due back in Mount Pleasant Town Court next week.
