Police officer's wife turns to Facebook for help

The wife of a Yonkers police officer, who wished not to give her name, is starting a Facebook group in the hopes of saving some 91 police department jobs that are scheduled to be cut under a new city budget plan.

?We?re a one-income family, and we have three kids, and the possibility of him losing his job for a second time scares us,? she says. Her husband was one of 11 officers last year who lost their job for a month due to budget cuts.

This year, the department faces 91 police job cuts and 51 layoffs.
