Evacuation after dinner theater goes dark

The lights went out at the Westchester Broadway Dinner Theatre yesterday afternoon forcing the evacuation of the entire building in the middle of the first act.

Employees reported there were nearly 440 senior citizens in the Elmsford theater for a matinee performance of the show 'Sugar' when everything went dark.

Con Ed says that some heavy winds blew wires down, causing two fuse boxes at the theater to blow.

Bill Stutler, owner of the theater, says he is just glad that no one was hurt. "All of the staff got everybody out safely, thank goodness."
