Garza vigil held outside Manhattan nightclub

A vigil was held this week outside the nightclub where slain Brooklyn woman Laura Garza was last seen with a convicted Orange County sex offender.

Dozens of mourners, holding each other in a tearful embrace, gathered to remember Garza's life at the Marquee nightclub, the last place she was seen alive in December 2008.

Convicted sex offender Michael Mele was arrested for a parole violation shortly after Garza went missing and has been in state prison since then. Authorities say they left the nightclub together in Mele's silver Infiniti SUV.

Garza's remains were found in April after a 16-month search.
