Pearl River H.S. student dies

A Pearl River High School student who lost his leg in a car accident earlier this week has died.

The accident happened Monday when a friend who was behind the wheel lost control of the car, struck a guardrail and fell into a stream bed on Veterans Memorial Drive.

Friends of Justin Rogers, 15, say he was a sweet kid, without a mean bone in his body.

Pearl River High School planned to honor Rogers with a moment of silence this morning before the start of classes. Administrators say they will have grief counselors on hand.
