Police put Putnam schools on alert for man taking pictures

Police and school officials in Putnam County are on alert after a man has been accused of taking photos and videos of middle and high school students.

Claire Cote, a student at Carmel High School, says she received an e-mail from the school district warning her about a man who was taking pictures of girls at several schools in Westchester and Putnam counties last week.

Investigators say they questioned the 60-year-old Lake Carmel man who was working construction at several school sites. They say they searched his car and electronic devices and found nothing incriminating.

School officials from several districts reminded families that if you see something strange to say something and they will investigate.
