Bomb squad responds to Ossining grenade scare
A suspicious looking item caused a major scare in Ossining earlier this week, forcing two major roadways to shut down and the county bomb squad to respond.
Parts of Route 9A and Route 134 had to be shut down at the height of rush hour after police say someone reported something in the roadway that looked suspicious.
The rusted, pineapple shaped device was later determined to be a toy grenade. However, police commended the person that alerted them and say that it is always better to be safe than sorry.
