Tractor-trailer crash brings traffic to a halt

Traffic on the southbound NYS Thruway was backed up for 15 miles at one point this morning after a car reportedly crashed into a tractor-trailer near exit 15.

Witnesses told police that the driver of the car was driving erratically, even cutting across several lanes of traffic to get to exit 15, when the crash happened around 7 a.m.

Traffic was expected to be moving smoothly this morning after four high-speed EZ-Pass lanes reopened today in Harriman after two months of construction.

Both drivers were taken to Good Samaritan hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
