E-ZPass lanes reopen, but crash snarls traffic

Four high-speed E-ZPass lanes reopened today in Harriman after two months of construction, but it didn't make for a smoother commute due to an accident.

Traffic on the southbound New York State Thruway was backed up for 15 miles at one point this morning after a car reportedly crashed into a tractor-trailer near exit 15.

Witnesses told police that the driver of the car was driving erratically, even cutting across several lanes of traffic to get to exit 15, where the crash happened at around 7 a.m.

Both drivers were taken to Good Samaritan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the car is expected to get several tickets.
