3 shot in Mt. Vernon near anti-violence rally

Three people were shot in Mount Vernon over the weekend in what police say may be a gang-related incident.

The shootings took place at Mt. Vernon Avenue and High Street, just blocks away from an anti-violence rally organized by a group of men who call themselves the Peacekeepers.

Following the incident, police combed the area and found a gun in the sewer, but officers wouldn't say if it's connected to the shootings.

The three victims were taken to the hospital. One of them is in critical but stable condition.

In the meantime, hundreds of the Peacekeepers marched against violence, saying it's time for a change in the city.
