Son charged with attempted murder

A man from the Dominican Republic is being charged with attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed both of his parents when they refused to provide him with money for drugs.

Reyes' father Pedro says it was around 3 a.m. Monday when Dennis began asking him and his wife for drug money in their apartment at 58 Maple Ave. When they refused to give him money, Pedro says they were attacked.

The elder Reyes had to be taken to the hospital, but was released shortly after. He says he is more concerned about his wife, who was stabbed upwards of six times and remains in critical condition.
