Public hearing held on Yonkers budget plan
A public hearing was held at Saunders High School last night regarding the budget plan proposed by Mayor Phil Amicone.
Yonkers residents who attended the hearing say they are very unhappy with the proposed cuts to aid and services.
In all, more than 500 police officers, firefighters, teachers and sanitation workers could lose their jobs.
In an effort to preserve those jobs, Republican City Council members are proposing a pay freeze and an across-the-board 5 percent pay cut for all city workers.
