Democratic convention descends on Rye Brook

State democrats are gathering in Rye Brook for their party's convention today and will be formally nominating their fall election candidates over the course of the next few days.

Attorney General Andrew Cuomo formally announced his plans to run for governor over the weekend. Sources tell News 12 that Cuomo will not face much opposition getting the nomination this week.

Democrats will have to pick candidates for several big races, including attorney general and lieutenant governor.

It has been 12 years since the state Democratic Party Convention has been held in Westchester.
