Suspect in custody after apartment shooting

A Yonkers man was arrested this morning after he allegedly shot his landlord in the head inside of an Orchard Place apartment building.

Yonkers Police Chief William Cave says the victim was found bleeding in the hallway of 4 Orchard Place just before 10 a.m. He was rushed to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the head, but was conscious and talking with police.

Police shut down the surrounding area for nearly two hours as they searched for the suspect. The suspect was eventually found inside of the Orchard Place building, where he lives, with blood still on his face.

There are unconfirmed reports that the suspect may be in a relationship with the victim?s daughter. Still no word on the identity of the suspect or the victim.
