Investigation into Mt. Vernon school stabbing

A crisis team is on-hand for students and faculty at the Nelson Mandela High School after two students were allegedly stabbed by a third student at the Mount Vernon school yesterday afternoon.

The school was locked down after the incident at around 2 p.m. and one student was arrested. School officials say a disagreement over a basketball game sparked the fight.

The victims, one stabbed in the back and another slashed in the hand, were both taken from the school to the hospital with their injuries being described as non-life threatening.
