Cops: Postal worker delivered more than mail

A 21-year-old Yorktown postal worker is accused of delivering more than just mail after he allegedly sold marijuana out of his delivery truck to undercover police officers.

James Kirk, of Carmel, was arrested this week and charged with the sale and possession of marijuana.

An investigation involving county narcotics detectives, the Yorktown Police Department and the U.S. Postal Service revealed Kirk's alleged scheme. Police say Kirk would fill up his truck with mail at the post office on Maple Hill Drive in Yorktown and drive his regular route, but that he was peddling more than just the mail.

Kirk was arraigned and released on $2,500 bail. He's due back in court today.
