4-year-old allegedly left in street by dad

Yonkers police say that a 4-year-old girl found wandering alone on a Yonkers street this weekend may have been left there by her own father.

Neighbors reported seeing a four-year-old girl wandering not far from her Elm Street home around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

The girl apparently told police that her father, 26-year-old Eduardo Florencio, took her out of the car and drove away.

Police say they found Florencio asleep at home and surrounded by beer bottles. He was arrested and charged with abandonment.

The child was released to her mother, who was not at home at the time of the alleged crime.
