Teens busted for drinking at hotel

(01/02/03) HARRISON - Underage drinking was big news in Westchester in 2002. And to ring in the new year, more than 20 teens decided to celebrate with booze and drugs, that's until the police broke up the party.

The incident involving teens from Port Chester, Rye Brook and even Maine happened at the Renaissance Hotel in Harrison. According to police, the New Year's Eve celebration was filled with alcohol and marijuana.

Police were tipped off about the party by a concerned mother who found out that her daughter was attending. The teens ranged in age from 15-19. Police say the father of one of the teens was responsible for renting the three rooms where the party took place.

The 19-year-old who hosted the party may face charges of unlawfully dealing with a child. Two other teens have admitted to buying the alcohol, which police say was purchased at four different locations in Port Chester.

All 26 teens will be arraigned on January 10.
