Wanted bank robbers strike again

(07/23/03) BRIARCLIFF MANOR - The armed bank heist in Briarcliff Manor that took place on Tuesday might have been the tenth robbery for two very busy suspects the FBI is seeking. The two men are wanted in similar hold-ups in Dutchess County, The Bronx and Staten Island.

The latest robbery took place at the Chase Bank on the corner of Pleasantville and Orchard roads.

Officials say Tuesday's robbery was committed the same way as the other nine. They say one man has a gun, while the other man hops over the counter and steals the money.

The two bank bandits are still on the run, but the FBI thinks it's only a matter of time before they catch them. In Tuesday's robbery, red dye packs exploded in the cash they stole. Police say the two men left the cash not far from the bank but say they're hoping they may be spotted by someone because the red dye is likely on their hands.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for any information that will lead authorities to the two men. If you saw anything, you are urged to call 1-800-898-TIPS.
