Harrison teen in trouble again

(08/08/03) WHITE PLAINS - The Harrison teen who fatally punched a fellow classmate at an underage drinking party last year is in trouble with the law once again.

Patrick Rukaj, 18, was arrested last week at the Pearl nightclub in White Plains when undercover officers spotted him drinking. He was issued a summons. Rukaj had avoided jail time for the April 2002 death of classmate Rob Viscome. It's not clear if Rukaj's latest brush with law is a violation of his probation or not because his court proceedings were sealed.

Now, the Viscome family is speaking out because they feel Rukaj has not learned his lesson. The Viscomes say they don't regret asking for leniency for their son's attacker, but say they do think the judicial system has failed.

The Viscomes have filed a civil lawsuit against several of the teens at the party the night their son died. The Rukajs are named as defendants. The Rukajs could not be reached for comment.

Rukaj is do back in court on Wednesday.
