Yonkers woman injured by gun in oven

A Westchester woman was injured when a gun left in her oven discharged.

Police say 17-year-old Colsaun Bailey placed two loaded guns inside an oven at 78 Shoreview Drive. A woman who lives there was shot when she opened the oven door and the gun discharged due to the heat build-up.

At first it was believed a glass exploding in the oven injured the woman, but once police discovered the guns they realized what happened. The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Bailey has been arraigned on assault and weapons charges.
