Rukaj makes White Plains court appearance
Patrick Rukaj, 17, was in White Plains City Court on Wednesday after he was caught drinking illegally at a nightclub on July 31. It's not the first time the Harrison teen has been in trouble with the law. Rukaj made national headlines after he punched classmate Rob Viscome at an underage drinking party last year. Viscome, 17, later died from his injuries.
Rukaj was supposed to be in Harrison on Wednesday giving his deposition in a civil case regarding that fatal beer bash. Instead he had to face new drinking charges in White Plains. Rukaj's lawyer spoke for him at the arraignment and entered a plea of not guilty.
Rukaj's White Plains case was postponed until next month. In the meantime the incident in Harrison is far from over. Rob Viscome's family has filed a civil lawsuit against Rukaj and several other kids at the party. They want to know why no one called the cops that day, and why no one tried to save their dying son. The Viscome family believes Rukaj's latest arrest shows he hasn't learned anything from their son's death.
Rukaj is scheduled to make an appearance at Harrison Town Court on Friday for his deposition.
