Folks in one Yonkers community are trying to take back their streets from criminals. The Nepperhan Community Center on Warburton Avenue was packed Monday night with parents and kids worried about the recent violence in their neighborhoods. They say they are fed up with the recent rash of deadly violence. There have been several shootings in the area over the last couple of months, and three of them were fatal.Monday's meeting was a follow up to a Stop the Violence rally held two weeks ago. Residents are trying to come up with a way to keep their streets violence free. The group of residents made progress by forming committees such as Neighborhood Watch and a mentoring program for young men.
