Harrison deacon accused of sexual abuse
The deacon in charge of helping run NY Catholic schools has been removed from his post because of sex abuse allegations.
For more than a decade, Deacon Arthur Manzione helped run Catholic schools in the New York archdiocese. He also was a deacon at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Harrison. But now he is accused of sexually abusing a minor 20 years ago when he was at a church in Orange County. He has been dismissed from his post as deacon and suspended from his job running Catholic schools.
And it turns out that the church in Orange County has already been faced with scandal when Father Lawrence Inzio was accused of sexual abuse. Father Inzio was recently removed as pastor at St. Anthony's in Harrison. He worked with deacon Manzione for years.
Currently, the Orange County and Westchester County District Attorneys have an active investigation into the allegations against Father Inzeo and now that may be the case with deacon Manzione.
