Con Edison urges Westchester residents to conserve during warm weather

With the three "H's" back in the forecast, Con Ed is asking all residents not only to cool off, but also conserve.

After last week's blackout, residents have been asked to do their part in an effort to avoid another crisis.

Con Ed says residents should keep the air conditioners set to 78 degrees when they are home and keep the AC's off when they are not home. Con Ed also recommends cleaning the filters on air conditioners so the units work better. In addition, all unused appliances and lights should be kept off.

Despite the high demand for power during the extremely hot days, Con Ed says it is prepared.
