Yonkers man found dead inside his home

A 70-year-old man was found dead in his Yonkers home on Friday with his throat slashed. Detectives combed the crime scene all afternoon after the gruesome discovery was made.

Police say they were flagged down by a family member who came to visit the victim. That person saw the door was busted open and feared the worst.

Officers entered the man's Warring Row home and found him with his throat slashed. The house is located off of Palisades Avenue just south of the Yonkers War Memorial Park.

Recently in Yonkers, community leaders have been holding rallies to end the violence downtown. But now, police have yet another homicide investigation underway.

Anyone with information about this murder is asked to call the Yonkers Detective Division at 377-7725.
