Arizona murder suspect arrested in Yonkers

A man wanted for a murder in Scottsdale, Arizona is in a Yonkers jail Wednesday after police spent weeks searching for the killer of 31-year-old Scottsdale resident Ha Hoang.Cops say 30-year-old Sameh Gamal Basta met Hoang on August 8 at the Casino Arizona, and killed her, leaving her body to rot in the trunk of her car. Surveillance videos taken at the casino show both Basta and Hoang together on the night of the murder, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. Scottsdale detectives learned Basta had relatives living in Yonkers, and authorities say one of those family members contacted police. Police arrested Basta at an apartment building located on Nepperhan Avenue. He is now charged with first-degree murder.Basta will stay in the Westchester County Jail until an extradition hearing next month.
