Flooding on parkway to blame for several Irvington car crashes
County police are urging anyone who drives on the Saw Mill in Irvington, near the Old Cantina restaurant, to use caution. They say when the road gets wet it becomes slippery. Within the last year, County police say 35 car accidents happened going southbound, and five going northbound in and around the area in Irvington. Police say the area is posted as 50 miles per hour but drivers are going faster than that. On the southbound side there's a downhill area and then a curve where cars pick up speed. People who live and drive their cars in the area say they've seen too many accidents. They'd like to see the design of the road changed so that it's safer.County police stepped up patrols in the area to keep the number of accidents down, but rain is expected over the next few days so the best piece of advice is to slow down.
