Yorktown Highway Department crews prepare for flooding

After the floods caused by Floyd, Yorktown set up a special 'Stream Team' team to identify areas of potential flooding. As Hurricane Isabel approaches, Yorktown Highway Department crews are trying to make sure any rain that falls is diverted to the proper sewers and drains. For more on Hurricane Isabel, log on to the News 12 Westchester Hurricane Isabel Center.Yorktown is following through on lessons learned four years ago from Tropical Storm Floyd. While Westchester may not get as much rain as it did from Floyd back in 1999, the ground is saturated and flooding is possible. People in Yorktown who live in areas that could flood are being offered sandbags, but they are limited to ten per household.
