Final farewell to well-known Westchester political leader John Flynn

(09/27/03) YONKERS - John Flynn served as the mayor of Yonkers and was also a long-time state senator. Flynn passed away on Tuesday from health complications at the age of 91. On Saturday, his funeral mass was held in his hometown of Yonkers.

Family and friends attended the funeral at Saint Eugene's Church. John Flynn dedicated much of his political efforts to helping the handicapped, senior citizens and youth organizations.

At his funeral, family members say he was a man of high morals. John Flynn is survived by four daughters, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
