High-speed chase ends in Yonkers with police shooting suspect

A high-speed chase that began in the Bronx Tuesday night ended in Yonkers when police opened fire on an escaping suspect.Police say they tried to pull a car over on Moshulu Parkway and Jerome Avenue in the Bronx at about 11 p.m., but the car sped off. They followed, and a high-speed pursuit ensued. The car finally stopped on Cromwell Avenue and Locust Hill in Yonkers. Police say the men fled from the car, and as they followed, one of the suspects appeared to be pulling out a gun. Police opened fire on 32-year-old Kevin Deloatch, who was hit once in the chest and once in the backside.The man is now at Westchester Medical Center and is listed in stable condition. Two officers were also treated and released from St. John's for minor injuries. The other suspect fled the scene and is still at large. Yonkers police and the NYPD are continuing their investigation.
