Yonkers cops say a teenage girl slashed another girl in fight over a boy

(10/04/03) YONKERS - Police say two teenage girls were fighting over a boy, and one of the girls slashed the other with a sharp object. The stabbing victim was hospitalized and is now recovering at Westchester Medical Center.

The teenage victim was taken to the hospital Saturday afternoon with a puncture wound to the lung. She is critical but non-life threatening condition.

Police say the 17-year-old boy drove to his ex-girlfriend's house with his current girlfriend in tow. They say he went there to pick up some of his belongings. When they got to the ex-girlfriend's home at 5 George Street near Alpha Street in Yonkers, a fight apparently started between the two girls. Police say the ex-girlfriend stabbed the current girlfriend and then fled. They add that the alleged victim was soon taken to the hospital.

Yonkers police told News 12 Westchester the suspect is being held in a juvenile detention facility until she is arraigned on charges. Cops added even though everyone involved is a minor, the suspect could face serious assault charges.
