Massive amount of blood found in a Pelham Manor home remains a mystery

Police are still trying to figure out how a massive amount of blood ended up in an elderly woman's home.

It's been three days since police in Pelham Manor were called to a home on Esplanade Street and still they are not sure if a crime was committed at the home. Police say they found the first floor of the home covered in blood. The woman who lives in the home says she discovered the blood after waking up from an afternoon nap.

Emergency workers did not find any obvious wounds on her body, but she was taken to Sound Shore Hospital. Due to new privacy laws police were not able to find out what the status of the woman's condition was. They have now subpoenaed her medical records. Police are also waiting for results of a blood test to come back from the crime lab.

For now, how the blood got in the woman's house remains a mystery.
